Bishop of Shrewsbury on Visitation
Father Edmound
22 Jan 2023
Bishop Mark Davies will be visiting Hooton and Little Sutton over the weekend of 28/29 January and celebrating all the weekend Masses. Bishop Mark will then return the weekend following and visit Ellesmere Port 4/5 February and celebrating all the weekend Masses at Our Lady Star of the Sea.
A bishop’s Visitation is an opportunity for the chief pastor of the diocese to offer the Mass for the people and to look to the spiritual health of the parish; to visit some of the sick and housebound; to examine the church records to ensure they are in good order; to meet with the clergy of the parish; to review the stewardship of the parish priest; to encourage what is good and to offer direction in areas of growth.
Please take the opportunity to speak to Bishop Mark, especially after the Masses he offers, if you have any matters you wish to raise or would like the bishop to be aware of in his important role of overseeing the whole of the diocese, including our parish.
Hot Breakfast Rolls after 9am Mass at St Mary of the Angels
Thanks to Rob Smith and the Youth Group who will be offering hot breakfast rolls after the 9am Mass next Sunday to Mark the visit of Bishop Mark to the parish.
Monday 23rd Jan, Bishop Mark will visit St Saviour and St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary Schools ahead of his visit to the parish next weekend. The bishop’s visit to the schools is an opportunity to speak to all the children, give an assembly, meet the staff, and to meet particularly with the RE lead and the senior leadership.
